Iu a Parliamentary answer in the Commons it was denied that any decision had been taken to abandon schemes for the erection of the block of Government offices on a site between Whitehall and the Embankment. The work had not been suspended. A cable last week stated that tin work had been abandoned, and it w-a; surmised that the reason for the deci si on w as that the site was in the dangci zone of possible air raids. «
