Assault Charge

TWO MEN BEFORE J.’sP, AT WAIPUKURAU (Special to “Times” HASTINGS, *tfb. 2. Patrick John O’Connor and Ccci Alexander Banks, both of Waipukurau appeared before Messrs E. J. Turnc and J. B. McCormick, J.’sP., in the Wai pukurau Court to-day charged wit using obscene language and with as saulting Arthur James William Rusher. Both the accused pleaded guilty, but said that they were under the influence of liquor at the time. Banks was convicted and discharged on condition that ho took out a prohibition order against himself and O’Connor was sentenced to one month’s imprisonment. O’Connor, on hearing the sentence, protested that he considered it extremely unfair
