Austrian Railway Sold to Germany
United Press Association—By Electric Telegra ph.—Copyrigh t. MUNICH, Feb. 1. Austria’s most famous mountain railway, the Zugspitze funicular, has_ been sold to Germany for £9OOO, the greater part of which is to be paid in coal. The funicular is five miles beyond the German border, in the Austrian Tyrol. Its purchase is joyously hailed by Nazis as ‘‘the beginning of the peaceful penetration of Austria."
