From Out Own Correspondent Young Farmers’ Club. The January meeting of the Halcombe branch of the Young Fanners’ Club was held last weta when a fair attendance of members was presided over by air. J. The Gup Cup competition commenced on Saturday wnen a wind of gale force made conditions very unpleasant. The home players seemed quite unable to handle the •wind, while the visitors rose superior to the conditions. At the conclusion of the games the club captaiu. Air. Al. C. Mins Mavis Anderson, who has been •pending an extended holiday in the Auckland district, lias now returned Misa C. M. Rowland, who has been on the staff of the Tokorangi School for over two years, has accepted a position In Auckland. Alias Howland will commence her new duties wnen tne schools open. Residents and school children of Halcombs will be very sorry to hear of the death. In the Wellington Hospital, of Miss Gladys James, until recently a teacher on the Halcombe School staff. Miss James wnile in Halcombe endeared nerseif to children and parents alike and earned the respect of all by the patient manner in which she bore her continued illhealth. All will join in extending sympathy to her parents and family.
