Afternoon for Bride-to-be. A very pleasant afternoon was spent at the home of Mrs W. Davis, Jones’ line, Rongotea, recently when members of the Rongotea-Carnarvon Hockey team met to do honour to their captain, Miss Esme Hill of Kopane, whose marriage takes place I this month. Competitions were won by [Misses Esme Hill, W. Parker and M. Fraseer. After the dainty afternoon tea had been partaken of. Miss R. Davis thanked the guest of honour for her splendid work as captain of the hockey team and, in asking her to accept the gifts, wished her on behalf of the members of the team every happiness in her new life. Miss Hill suitably replied. Mrs Andrew Johnston, of the Methodist Parsonage, Kaitaia, North Auckland, with her small son Allan, was a visitor to Rongotea during the week-end. Mrs W. J. Read, of Rngtea, with her children, is on holiday at Foxton eßach. Mrs W. A. Will, of Rongotea, is spending a holiday at Waitarere Beach.
