RANGIOTU At the January meeting Mrs Pearce presided over a fair attendance. Mrs Gardner, of Oroua Downs, gave a demonstration of faggoting which was followed with keen interest and thoroughly enjoyed by all. Tho main competition for the evening was for 3 plain and 3 whentmeal scones, which resulted in Mrs Pearco gaining first place, Mrs Russell second. Members were then entertained by a Maori visitor, Mrs Rangi Akuira, who rendered two delightful solos, “Taumarumaru,’’ and "Waitangi Song’’. (with actions) and received a very enthusiastic reception. Supper was served by the following hostesses: Mrs Millard, Mrs Stanbra, Miss P. Rickerby, and Miss B. Beard. It was decided definitely to hold tho institute picnic on February 27, at Foxton beach.
