Halcombe Railway Station

IMPROVEMENTS TO THE ENTRANCE. Representations made by tho Halcombe branch of the Farmers' Union through tho Hon. J. G. Cobbe, M.P., for improvements to the entrance of the llalcombc railway station for the convenience of vehicular traffic have born fruit. Mr Cobbe took tho matter up with tho Minister of Railways who lias advised the member for the district that be has had the question of improvements investigated and has decided that there is a need for better access for vehicles calling at the station for parcels, etc., and has accordingly issued.instructions for tho roadway to be altered. In addition to this work it is intended to improve tho footwalk for pedestrian traffic. This announcement will be of interest to tho Bottlers of Halcombe who have long considered that something should bo done to meet the increasing demands of motor traffic by altering the existing difficult roadway into tho station building.
