Bigger Motor Camp for Napier

(Special to “Times”) HASTINGS, Jan. 30. Nine trams the property of the Napier Borough Council, and which havo been idle since the tramway service was discontinued iu Napier, are to bo used as shelter for the borough motor camp, which is to be extended bv Easter time to cope with tho increased number of motorists who come to Napier during holiday periods. The council has come to the decision that the existing camping area in George’s drive, Napier South, is no longer large enough. At a meeting of the Borough Council reserves committco on Thursday the Mayor, Mr. C. O. Morse, the borough engineer Mr. W. D. Corbett, and the superintendent of reserves, Mr. C. W. Corner, were appointed as a sub-com-mittee to go into the question of selecting a larger site for a motor camp or, alternatively, of extending the existing site. They are to report to the Borough Council at tho monthly meeting this evening. “Something is definitely going to bo done before Easter to give adequate ae« commodation to all motorists who visit Napier," said Mr. Morse, yesterday.
