Pahiatua Show

MORE VALUABLE PRIZE,*. Intending exhibitors at tho Pahiatua Show, to be held on Friday, February 12, aro reminded that entries will close in a few days. For the dog trial event post entries will be accepted. The entries so far to hand are exceptionally good, the hack classes and jumping competitions filling remarkably well. Tho cattle classes are also attracting large entries, and there will bo many new exhibitors. A similar remark would apply to the sheep section. The chopping contests are being well supported and tho entries for these spectacular events should bo well ahead of last year’s total. Thero is a big domand for side show space. Mr. J. Campbell (Ngaturi) has advised tho secretary that a “staunch supporter" of the Young Farmers’ Club has donated a miniature cup as the prize for a judging competition in tho cattle classes (restricted to members of Young Farmers’ Clubs). The cup for the sheep judging contest lias been donated by Mr. Campbell himself. Another trophy for competition among the Young Farmers’ Clubs has been donated by an honorary member. Tho following new members have been elected: Mr. M. J., Beech and Mr. C, Walker. The committee is to meet on Tuesday, when final arrangements will bo mado for tho Show.
