Medical Unit for Spain

In New Zealand sympathy for the victims of the Spanish war Is strong and has resulted In a live organisation to send a medical unit from Dunedin. A branch of this organisation has been formed in Palmerston North, and a public meeting will be held in the Opera House to-morrow evening at 8.30. Several well-known speakers will ad dress the meeting, including Dr. Smith, Rev. J. Hubbard, Messrs J. Hodgens and J. A. Colquhoun and Miss Constance Rawcliffe, of Wellington. It is felt that the movement to thus aid the Spanish people is one well worthy of the liberality of all citizens. People the world wide can demonstrate their hostility to war and bloodshed in no more effective manner than by supporting morally and financially to the best of their abilities the heroic efforts or doctors, nurses and Red Cross workers who are selflessly fighting not for ans' political faction but for the cause of .humanity
