Mr. R. Harris, of Auckland, has joined the staff of Mr. E. E. Etz. Mr. A. F. Eilers is on his annual leave from the Bank of New Zealand. Mr. and Mrs. M. A. Robertson have returned from a holiday spent at Waitarere beach. Mrs. G. and Miss Gardner left yesterday on an extended holiday in the Hawke's Bay district. Friends of Mr. J. G. Brechin will regret to learn that he is indisposed and is at present undergoing treatment at the Tararua Private Hospital. Mr. C. C. Smyth and family have returned from a holiday spent at Castlepoint. Mr. L. A. Truscott, of the Union Bank of Australia, was successful m passing in securities at the <vtamination held recently in connection with the diploma of banking in which he has already completed several subjects. Flying-Officer R. J. Cohen, of the Hobsonvilie air base, Auckland, and Mrs. Cohen, were guests at the Commercial Hotel on Thursday night. Married at Auckland last week they are on a motor honeymoon tour of the island.
