Pigs and Poultry

The Dominion Auctioneering Company, Palmerston North, reports a largt

yarding of pigs at their live stock fair held on Thursday. Good sorts were in particularly keen demand with a consequent rising in prices as compared with last week's. Porkers in particular were keenly sought after. Realisations were as follow: Small weaners, from 12s to 15s; best weaners, 17s to 21s; slips, 18s to 225; stores, up to 30s; light porkers, to 355; better porkers, up to 495. Prices for poultry showed a slight decline on recent realisations which were as follow: White hens, 2s to 4s; black hens, 4s to 6s; roosters and cockerels, 2s Gd to 6s Gd; ducks, 2a Sd to ss; pullets, small, 4s to 6s (all prices being per pair).
