MR. O. SCOTNEY, OF FEILDING. In view of his approaching departure from Feilding to accept an appointment in Gisborne, Mr. O. Scotuey, a prominent athlete of Feilding, was met by members of the Feilding Amateur Athletic Club on Thursday evening and presented with a travelling rug as a token of esteem. The presentation was made by Mr. W. R. McPhail, president of tho club, who spoke of Mr. Scotney’s lengthy association with amateur athletics in Feilding and of the enthusiasm with which he had advanced the interests of tho club. His efforts had resulted in the club attracting a keen membership of young men and the club would feel the loss of Mr. Scotney’s splendid services and his complete knowledge of amateur athletics. Mr. McPhail noped that the gift from the club would help Mr. Scotney to remember his association with amateur athletics in Feilding and concluded by wishing him every good wish for his future success. Mr. Scotney thanked members for their good- wishes and the goodwill that had prompted them to mark what little ho had done to promote the best interests of the club.
