Aeroplane Wreckage Sighted

MAY BE REMAINS OF SOUTHERN CLOUD. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyrlght. Received Wednesday, 11.30 p.in. SYDNEY, Jan. 27. A large party of men to-day began a search of the rugged country some distance from the Burrinjuk storage dam near Wagga for what was reported to resemble a crashed aeroplane. Local residents on Sunday fishing at Burrinjuk saw a glistening object some miles away in the forest and a pair of field glasses revealed the outline of an aeroplane wing and pieces of aluminium also a large figure resembling a ’plane. The wreckage is possibly that of the ill-fated Southern Cloud which was lost on March 21, 1931, with six passengers and two pilots.
