Pahiatua Sale
The New Zealand Farmers’ Co-op. Distributing Co., Ltd., report on their usual weekly Pahiatua sale:—We offered just on 2000 lambs to a good attendance of buyers. Prices realised were on a par with last week’s sale and we made a total clearance of our offering. The range of prices were as follows: — Sheep: Forward w.f.w. lambs, 18s 6d, 18s, 17s 2d, 17s; medium w.f.w. lambs, 16s 9d, 16s Id, 15s 3d, 13s 4d, 13s 9d, 14s 4d; small w.f.w. lambs, 13s, 12s 9d, 12s, 12s 4d, 12s 3d, 7s 6d; ewe lambs, 245, 21s 9d, 21s 6d.
Cattle: Store cows, £4 Is, £3 3s; cow and calf, £3 2s.
Pigs: Small weaner pigs, 11s; slips, 13s; stores, 20s 6d, c2s.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report on the weekly sale held on Tuesday, when the firm offered 2700 lambs to a good attendance of buyers. Ewe lambs sold well up to late rates. Medium lambs depreciated in value to previous sales, and good forward b.f. lambs sold up to ' late rates. A pen of 241 shorn ewo lambs on account Balfour Estate realised 2Ss 4d. For a pen of 192 woolly
ewe lambs, on account Seymour Bone, were sold to a Marton buyer at 325. in the shorn wether lambs, an attractive pen, on account of Mrs A. Checkley realised 19s 2d. Our principal sales were as follows:
