Pretty Wedding at St. Andrew’s Church

PRESSLEY—MOORE. St. Andrew 's Church, Palmerston North, was the scene of a very prettywedding on January 12, when Dora Phyllis, elder daughter of Mrs. M. A. E. Moore, of Victoria avenue, was married to John Wildon Pressley, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Pressley, of Auckland. Rev. John Hubbard, M.A.", was the officiating clergyman and Mr. A. J. Graham played the wedding music. The bride, who was given in marriage by Mr. C. Woods, of the Y.M.C.A., entered the church attended by three bridesmaids, her sister, Miss Iris Moore, Miss Hilda Mawson and Miss Madge Price. She wore a lovely gown of white needlerun lace over white satin, with a fan-shaped train of graduated bands of georgette and lace faggotting. The bodice had a cowl neck with a high back, trimmed with pearl embroidery and featured w’ith loose sleeves, also trimmed with faggotting. Masses of soft plain tulle formed the veil, and fell from a halo of stiffened tulle and orange blossom to form a second train. White satin shoes with silver toes and heels completed the dress, and she carried a bouquet of white and the palost pink gladioli, carnations and dahlias. The bridesmaids wore similar lace in shell pink over satin, cut ankle-length, low-necked with large puffed sleeves, the back of the bodice being slashed' and finished with tiny buttons and hoops of georgette, the waist being swathed with pink velvet with long ends. Silver halos finished with a silver rose over, the right ear, and silver sandals completed a charming picture. They carried bouquets of pink gladioli, dahlias and carnations. The duties of best man were carried out by Mr. Edward Pressley, brother of the bridegroom, and the groomsmen were Messrs Alfred Willoughby and Frank Gilman. , Guests were present from Auckland, New Plymouth. Wanganui, Hawera and Wellington. After the ceremony a wedding breakfast was held at Messrs Collinson afid Cunninghame’s tea rooms. Mrs. Moore received her friends wearing a smart navy blue ensemble, the sleeves being slashed to show bands of faggot ted satin. Her hat was of navy crinoline straw with lace flowers, and she carried a boquet of apricot gladioli. She was assisted by the father of the bridegroom, as the fhother was unable to take the journey from Auckland owing to ill-health. The tables were beautifully decorated with gypsophila, pink carnations and pom-pom dahlias. Pride of place was given to a square white two-tiered wedding cake beautifully decorated with rosebuds and touches of silver mado by an old friend of the family. After the breakfast, a dance was held in All Saints’ Girls Club room. The happy pair left .by..the Auckland express on an extended honeymoon.
