r'roai Our Uwu Correspondent Farewell to Popular Residents. A farewell was tendered Mr and Mrs and Master Allen Watkins in the Hukanui hall on Thursday evening. This took the form of a most enjoyable dance. Mr Robert Mabey made an efficient M.C. The lucky spot waltz was won by Mrs ‘Welkins and partner. After supper had been served, Mr C. Eddie, Mr Twenlyman and Mr Ronald Udy ail spoke favourably of the guests as settlers and members of local sports clubs. Mr Twentyman, on behalf of the residents, asked Mr and Mr* Watkins to accept a chiming clock and a fireside chair. Mr Watkins spoke interestingly of his stay here and of the happy time they had all had. Mrs Watkins also thanked all and said a few words in reference to the Women's Institute. Kathleen Golder presented Mrs Watkins with a bouquet. Dancing continued till well past midnight. when “Auld Lang Syne 1 ’ completed the evening. Among those present were Mesdames W. Gloucestershire match in 1907.
