It seems that right through the Wairarapa the last few days the wind has been at gale force. On Friday a motorcycle rider who participated in the Pahiatua motor-cycle sports, travelled up by a light car and from Featherston to Pahiatua he was obliged to travel in second gear due to the strong wind. Barney Rhodes had a bad crash in the seventh race and was picked up unconscious while P. Bowe had the misfortune to break a bone in his foot while riding.
