Dannevirke Stock Sale

Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having sold the following at last Thursday’s sale:—Seven fat S.D. ewes at 19s; 28 fat ewes from 20s 6d to 20s 7d; 92 b.f. Jambs ISs lOd; S 3 ditto. 18s sd; 38 do. 12s; 59 w.f. ewe lambs 20s 6d; 111 do. 21s; 96 w.f. wether lambs 12s 3d; 40 do. 12s; 15 small m.s. lambs at 9s. The Hawke’s Bay Farmers* Co-op. Association, Ltd., report on the Dannevirke sale, held on 21st inst., as under: “We offered a large yarding of sheep, comprising mostly lambs, and a medium yarding of cattle, to a good attendance. Competition was keen throughout enabling us to effect a total clearance. A particularly good line of 407 S.D. cross lambs, offered on account of W. T. Gilbert, Esq., Horoeka, realised the top price of the sale £1 Is 3d. We give the following prices:—Fat ewes, ISs 6d to £1 Is; b.f. lambs, £1 Is 3d, £1 6s, £l, 193 6d, I9s; light sorts 17s to ISs 6d. small b.f. lambs, 12s 6d to 16s 6d; shorn Romney rape lambs, 17s 6d to £1 6s; medium, do., 15s to 15s 6d; small do., 11s to 14s 6d; ewe lambs, 19s 6d to £1 4s 6d; small ewe lambs, 15s 6d to 18s 6d. Fat cows, £4 10s to £5 16s; store cows, 210 sto £3 ss; bulls, £2 6s to £5 10s; yearling Holstein heifers, £3 16s; yearling Jersey heifers, £3 155.”
