All Swimming Championships Abandoned

BECAUSE OF INFANTILE PARALYSIS Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night. The New Zealand swimming chain pionship meeting, the Maori championships and junior and intermediate championships will be definitely abandoned this year because of the epidemic of infantile paralysis. This decision was made at a meeting of the council of the New Zealand Swimming Association this evening. Because of the abandonment of all championship meetings the council decided in order to have a guide for the selection of pro bablo representatives for tho Empire Games in Sydney in February, 3938, to ask centres to furnish a list of the times of their leading swimmers so that' a ranking list could be compiled.
