FRANCIS DRAKE’S STAKE WINNINGS. The victory by Francis Drake in the Wellington Stakes increased his stake winnings to £I9BO. He has now started seven times for five wins and two seconds, HECTOR GRAY FAILS AGAIN. In the expectation that H. E. Gray might resume riding at the current Wellington meeting, as he did successfully once previously in his career, very much more than ordinary interest was taken in what the result would be of his latest application for a jockey's license. The application was considered at a meeting of the executive committee of the New Zealand Racing Conference on Wednesday evening and it was again refused.
