Feilding Wedding

MCGAUGHEY—HOSKING.

St. John’s Anglican Church, Feilding, was the scene of a quiet but pretty wedding yesterday, when Elsye Margaret, second daughter of Mr. and the late Mrs. E. P. Hosking, of 145 Manchester street, was married to Stuart Reid, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. J. McGaughey. of Whangarei. Mr. Hosking gave his daughter away, and the officiating clergyman was Canon G. Y. Woodward (Palmerston North), Mr. M. Pirani playing the wedding music. A very pretty frock of ivory crepe de seur was worn by the bride. The softly cowled neckline was caught with coils of self-piped material. Tiny satin buttons from elbow to wrist ornamented the sleeves, as they did also the bodice at the back. The skirt fell gracefully into a train. The bridal veil (lent by a friend) was of line embroidered net and flowed from a coronet of seed pearls. White lilies, hydrangeas and sweet peas, intermingled with silver leaves and maiden hair fern* and tied w 7 ith silver ribbon, composed her exquisite sheaf. Miss Preda Reid attended the bride as bridesmaid, and wore a very charming gown of beigo lace, over a beige satin slip. The skirt was gored and features of tho bodice were the cowi neckline and raglan sleeves. A belt of golden brown folded velvet adorned the waistline, and tied at the back in a large, soft bow, the long ends of which reached the hemline of the frock. She also wore beige satin shoes and stockings and her hat of soft straw was ornamented with flowers on the crown and stiffened tulle on tho brim. Her bouquet was of flame-coloured dahlias, gladioli and birch, and was tied with flame ribbon.

The bridegroom was attended by Mr. H. P. Hosking (brother of the bride) as best mau.

All the bouquets were tho artistic work of Mrs. Revington Jones. Following the wedding a small reception, at which only relatives and intimate friends were present, took place. Miss I. Curtis, of Auckland (an aunt of the bride), assisted by Mrs. McGaughey, welcomed tho guests, the latter being attired in a black floral marocain frock with matching coatee> hat and accessories; she carried a bouquet of shell pink and mauve gladioli and birch.

When the bride and bridegroom (who intend making their future home at Patea) later appeared for travelling, the bride was wearing a silk marocain frock patterned in green and brown, a beige straw hat trimmed with a posy of green and gold, a brown coat, and matching accessories.
