AT PEILDING- STOCK SALE. NO ELSE WITH EAIK It was expected ■with the refreshing rain which fell throughout the Pending district yesterday morning that an appreciable rise would be noted in store sheep prices, but anticipations were not realized. However, late rates word 1 maintained for practically all classes of stock and the large yarding of over 17,000 sheep changed' hands under the hammer.- As far as store owes were concerned the quality taken generally was not up to that seen at the ewe fair last week. There were nevertheless some good lines of sound, mouthed sheep penned, and' these sold at ewe fair rates. There was a heavy yarding of lambs for which the demand was fairly keen and buying good. Very little fat stock was yarded and there was a fair entry of rams which sold well.
