If It has. transpired that a meeting of the Council of Notables, which had been summoned by the KhediV^'-td' suggest a course of action to be pursued at the present crisis of Egyptian affairs, was held to-day. The" demands of the military were 'discussed at length, and 'the actioi of the officers met with general disapproval. It was. ultimately reso]ved that Cherif Pasha should be \ requeßterl to reconsider his of yesterday, and to accept the Presidency of the Council. He was at? length prevailed upon to accede to the wishes of the Council, and he ii now engaged m the formation of a Cabinet. • ; i ' '■'
