DEEEAT OF THE MINISTRY.
The "No Confidence "debate has ended, and the " numbers are up," so that all speculation as to the result is now at an end. Although Sir George and his Colleagues still occupy the Treasury Benches, they do so with the uncomfortable feeling that there. is a working majority of 14 againstthem, and tinder such . circumstances they cannot but know that the ordei? for j;heir expulsion from office has been signed. The division took place at 5 past 4 o'clock yesterday, at 14 minutes past four the " Press Association " despatched to us an " urgent" telegram, and ten minutes later, it was known through tis m Palmerston that " the mighty had fallen. The following is the telegram received : — " The Ministry has been defeated j the " No Confidence " debate is ended, and the Amendment has been carried.
