TOUCHING THAT HAGGIS.
M*. Alexander Schultze is a canny chiel, for while he would try to make tbe people believe he doe 3 not wish to have his deeds chronicled m the public journals, he loses no opportunity of spreading the particulars of his last achievement throughout tt>e district by word of mouth. Perhaps the reason Mr. Schultze took exception to the paragraph m the Times was on account of the conceding portion being slightly incor-ect, and consequently I give your venders the bbiefit of the true veision. It would appear that the winding up of the ]<"( tie affair had not quite such an agreeable termination as the practical jokist anticipated, as after he had bounded into space he discovered to bis cost that anger is a greater locomotive power than fun, and be consequently coon fell a p?'ey to his pursuers. It is a bad rule which will not work both ways, and such a facetious gentleman as Mr Schultze must have been highly amused to have his capture followed by an opportunity of discussing the merits of the haggis huuself as a poultice to his head. Perhaps Mr. Schultze will deny that nart of the performance also, notwithstanding the fact that ray informant, heard it from thelip3 of the gentleman himself.
