MESSRS. THYNNE, LINTON, & CO.'S LAND SALE.

These gentleman have had' a very large j number of most valuable sections placed m their hands for sale on Wednesday next, at their Sale Rooms, Palmerston. It is hard to particularise where all are so well situated, but we mny mention those choice lots on the Square, adjoining the Bank of New Zealand, and near Messrs. Walton and King's premises, as offering a rare chance of obtain-, ing one of those sites so difficult to secure at even exorbitant rates. Sections m Broad street need no comment, as for. either business or building sites they stand unrivalled, the street being one of the main thoroughfares of the town. In Main street the sections being close to the Telegraph Office, should, from their position, command a ready sale and a high price. Church street sections need only a visit to satisfy purchasers of the excellent posi-. tions they occupy ; and for any one m search of a paddock foi> grazing purposes, or for a site for private residence, the sections advertised as such are unsurpassed, being of the beat' possible soil, and near the centre of the town, most securely fenced, and, owing to t the energy of the Borough Council, haa a ; convenient road right past it. i We. understand that the sections on the Gorge and Stoney Creek roads have been, repeatedly inquired after since the announcement of the sale, but the auctioneers have decided upon letting them go to hammer, so as to enable the industrious working man to obtain a small farm for- himself. From what we can learn", the sections offered for sale m the Bunnythorpe District should readily find buyers, situated as they are between two sawmills, the hands therein employed being likely to avail themselves of the. opportunity of becoming owners of property m contiguity to work. PITZHEBBERT. The almost certain prospect of au early realisation of the endeavors to procure the construction of the railway line along the. only route by wbieh competent engineers and sane settlers could expo3t it to be carried, must put a value, inexprsssible at this perim up-m the sections m Fitzherbert which toe auctioneers are to offer, and under these ciiKftnistances we feel convinced that the figujjl realised per acre -trill exhibit a larger Mief m the estimation which this land is Mid m than was even shown at the last sale neld by the same.firm a, few weeks since of similarly situated sections. W© understand from the.auctioneers that, fully realising the tightness of- the money market, they have obtained from the vendors a relaxation from the stiff- terms of • cash for tlie town properties and have been instructed, m. some instances whoro the labpring settler, would be likely, to be m:- -: duced to invest, to allow a very considerable pprtiou of the pu£chase-m©»ey to ro-

main for some years on mortgage at a low rate of interest. Thi*, then, m addition to the particular nature of the properties cataloged, offers opportunities for the acquisition of desirable residence sites not often met with, and which should ceruiuly b-j embraced. We have thus dwelt at some length upon the event and the various lots to be submilted, for the reason that it has always been our earnest wish to see the working man, and those who have families growing up, holding a stake m the community which will serve to tie them to the district, and this can be best done by making him his own landlord.
