One occasionally meets with amusing ad-verii-semeiits m the public prinU, but I thitk the following, which graced the columns of a Southern j-jiirnal a short while since, is a perleut gem m its way:— "To Kleptomaniacs —If the parties who stole the leg of mutton and the pudding during fe night of the Ist instant, from the back o\ my premise.*, will lvturu the dishes, they will "greatly oblige— J. H. Copp " 1 imagine I see the kleptomaniacs so feelingly appealed to, stung to remorse, and ove.powered by the delicate manner m which the invitation has been couched, waving dishei m han-l upon the immortal Copp. I should think that by such a procedure they would be very likely to " dUli "themselves, for it i< more than likely they would be "copped" with a vengeance. Klepto maniocs are supposed to be persons who on ceitaiu occasions are not accountable f»r their actions, vet 1 am prepared I o wager that although it may huve been a mania which cause I the removal of the dishes, no such inotiTe power will effect a return.
