THE " TIMES" CORRESPONDENT.
TO THE' EDITOtt. Sib,— Some time ago there appeared m your valuable paper a letter signed by the " Times '! Correspondent, m which he tried to give me, as he thought, a mighty hit. He gave me good advice, poor man, about sticking to my trade,' which I ani doing, and have been so busy of late that I cculd not find the time to reply to him before now. However, as I am now; going to say a few words with your permission, I would advise him to " stick to his trade/'^which is of lale clearly defined. There is great scope for his abilities m this district, owing to its size; and no doubt he will one day rejoice m the reception of some distinguished mark [ from the public for valuable service rendered to the feathery tribe under his paternal care. I hope he will get along as well m his legitimate line of business as I am doing m mine, and for the future resign all claims to a seat among those who call themselves correspondents.— -I am, &'c, .."... E. Marsh. ; - P.S. — I am m the habit of paying for my advertisements, and am also m the habit of writing my own letters. * [We have to apologise to Mr Marsh for the delay m the publication of his letter^ and also to announce to both parties that as each side has now heen heard, the correspondence must cease.— Ed.
