A COMPLAINT.
TO ; "THB EDITOR, v Slßj-^-Wouldyou kindly inform the iongpuffering settlers of the Kiwitea Block, near Feilding, when the County Council intend to finish the road that they began about six months ago, and the money for which was voted by the Government last session. It has been rather . a remarkable affair altogether. In the first place, instead of beginning the road m the ordinary . manner at the nearest point to Feilding, they "begun no less than fourteen miles from there, and after making about ; two Smiles, they suddenly cease work, and that is all we unfortunate .pioneers know about, the matter. They then amuse us by promises that certainly are not strong enough for culverts, as they are always broken, and amuse themselves by calling for tenders ; but it seems "many shall be called but few shall be chosen," for we cannot hear of any being accepted. If the money were not actually m their hands, they would have some excuse, but we -believe it is. At any rate they might kindly explain what system they are working on, and endeavor to enlighten us as to what earthly iwe two miles of road are with a gap of seven miles (6. the next piece, which interval, it is needless to 6ay, ia nearly impisssMe.—l am, Ate., .SxAKiax H; Oabb.
