It having been found impossible with the present lolling stock at command to carry on the goods and passenger traffic according to the advertised time table, a change has been made both m the hours at which trains will leave the termini, and their arrival at intermediate stations. The alteration will come into effect on Monday, and has been made tb permit of more time being allowed at those stations at which considerable shunting is necessary. We presume, however, the step is but a temporary one, and that the General Manager, when placed m possession of the requisite material, will put on a goods independendtly of the passenger train, so as to make the journey with a saving of at least two hours, for it must be. admitted sijc hours aud twenty minutes to acoOmplish eighty, six miles is a leetletoo slow for a continuance. Under present circumstances, however, it appears unavoidable, and it is far abetter the table should be altered, so that people will not be kept awaiting the arrival of an overdue train, or run the risk of losing a seat by calculating upon such a contingency,
