a Tuesday. . An influential meeting took place last night when a Sericultural Association was formed to promote the growth of mulberry trees and sericulture m the district. Firth liberated yesterday 9,000 young salmon m Shame's river and tributaries and took with him a number of mountain quail for liberation m suitable localities. The | natives report, that the trout placed m the Waihau or Upper Thames some time ago' have greatly multiplied, thousands of young fish having been. seen.
