FEILDING.

[FBOM OT7E OWN CoKBESPOKDBKT].: The Bazaar held m aid of the Church of England Parsonage Ftod at Feildirig opened at 11 o'clock a.mV, on Thursday last, and so far has beena great success. A number of ladies have been engaged during the last six months m preparing for the interesting event. The result ;of their efforts wris -pleasingly manifest at the opening when the interior of the large, room of the Immigration Depot ! was revealed with all its tasteful decoration and stalls laden with useful and ornamental wares. ..A crowd of fairies, budding into womanhood, intermingled with those whose charms were : . isL.full bloom, and their attractions on},tEis~ occasion were heightened by an unusual animation, giving them irresistable power m attracting the- silver lining from the purses of the sterner sex. As for myself, I was so dazzled by the sight of so much attraction that I feel unable to give a detailed description of the enchanting scene. I understand that there were £50 iaken up to 5 p.m. At night, up to 10 ' o'clock, the room was crowded to excess but I have not yet learned the amount taken after 5 o'clock, and as I must close for the mail, I leave further particulars for my next letter. I omitted to mention that all the stores • m Feilding were closed during Thursday afternoon, and everyone seemed' to enjoy the holiday making and the pleasant intercourse with friends. It 'is not the least part of an enterprise of this kind' that it produces so happy a result m the way of social pleasantness. -I find that the action taken by the Foxton people m putting off their regatta till next month so as not to have that and the Feilding sports clashing together, has been favorably commented on here. Feilding'also expects that many of your ' Palmerston folks,. as well as the Foxton, will visit us on Boxing Day, and great preparations are being made.
