Monday. The sales of pedigree cattle and sheep on Saturday were very thinly attended, and comparatively few were sqld^- Mr Dawson, of Manawatu, purchased the: Orlando bull for 250 guineas^ and the -Premier sKbrthorn bull for 140guin'eas. Mr Taylor,- of Wanganui purchased the Loyalty shorthorn bull for 50 guineas. * - -: Wednesdaj: The Secretary of the Board ofTEducation held a Court of Enquiry ihto.the recent charges against the master q£ the Lqburn school of whipping Catholic children who refused to take part m Bible lessons. The evidence was not clear, but seemed to show that, though not compelled to read the Bible, some Catholic have been made to write Bible lessons. The board will consider the matter further. r
