GRAHAMSTOWN.
Sunday. An old. Maori named Te Pakewa was arrested last night as a lunatic. This is the man who accused himself of bewitching Te Moananui rand causing His death. Meetings Save been held concerning his and at one of ihese, held at Ohiriemuri on Wednesday last, ; it was determined to kill him. A party was told off to dpthjs, and three men came down- this, mbrning and fired; about ten shots into Pukewa's whare, and he only escaped being murdered by his -arrest, last night; The matter has been reported to the Government. '
