MANCHESTER HIGHWAYS BOARD.
A special meeting of Wardens (convened to pass accounts) was held at the E. & C. Aid Corpoiation office, Feilding, on Saturday, the 22nd September, 1877. PRESENT. Messrs Macarthurr (in the chair), Maysmor, and Bailey. ACCOUNTS PASSED. Messrs. Golding and Humphry (contract), £63 6s; Mr John Aitkin (bridges and culverts), £33 15s 4d; Messrs Belfit and Srtinger (formation), £29 18s ; Messrs S. Coker and Son (formation), £14 ; Messrs R. Travina and Son (formation and extra work), £20.
A meeting of the Board was. held at the E. & C. Aid Corporation office on Saturday, the 29th September, 1877. PRESENT. Messrs A. F. Halcombe (chairman), Macarthur, Linton, and Maysmor. MINUTES. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. A petition was received from James Blackmore. Resolved, That the request of James Blackmore for a rise in his wages be not acceded to. ACCOUNTS PASSED. C. Neilsen (roadman, No 2 Ward), £3 15s 9d; P. Curreen (roadman, No 4 Ward), £7 4s; J. Blackmore (roadman, No 1 Ward), £14 2s ; E. & C. Aid Corporation (timber account), 14s Id ; Messrs J. and F. Jefferies (contract), £22 ; Messrs Barker and Harvey (contract), £28 16s. Resolved, That tenders be called for metalling Manchester street. Resolved, That an expenditure of £20 be authorised for the completion of Mackie's line. NUISANCES. The Chairman laid before the Board a report from the Inspector of Nuisances. Resolved, That the Board meet on Saturday, the 3rd November, 1877.
