MANCHESTER HIGHWAY BOARD.
A meeting of the Manchester Highways Board was held on Saturday, the, Ist Sept., 1877, at the E. & C. Aid Corporation office, Feilding. . WARDENS PRESENT. Messrs. Macarthur (m the chair), Cummins, Bailey, and Maysmor. MIKTJTES. The minutes of the previous meeting J were read and cdnfirnied. TBNDEBS. The following tenders were received for felling and clearing 50 chains of the Taonui Boad : — From Mr Henry Wethely, at £1 8» r per chain ; from Mr Thomas Barker, at' £1 4 per chain ; from Mr John Beck- 1 man, at £1 7.s 6d per chain ; from Messrs G-. and- J. K. Ashw orth, at £1 per chain ; * declined. From Messrs. Wells, Street- '

Gichart and Co., £30 17s 6d; Messrs Harvey and Barker, £17 12s. - -" ESTIMATE. - An estimate was received from the Engineer of the costs of bridges,', culverts, and sundry w.orks required on the road to the Feilding Cemetery. Besolved, That the' works required: on the road to the Feilding Cemetery be allowed to stand over. for future consideration, the Board not being m sufficient * funds at present to enable it to- under- • take the works. mackie's boad. TKe 'Engineer reported- the expenditujp already incurred on Mackie's Road £348 15s lOd, and that 2\\ chains of the road will remain unformed after the completion of the contracts now m -hand, and* that a sum of £35 7s 6d additional woula be required to form the remaining 2l£ chains. INSPECTOR OF NUISANCE'S EEPOET. The Inspector of Nuisances reported .having served requisitions to abate nuisances, and also informed the Board of the existence of a nuisance requiring t abatement., * % ; ' Besolved, That a meeting of the * Board be held on Saturday, the 29th September, 1877.
