Some of our readers will regret to learn of the death of Mr George Bond, formerly well-known'in Palmerston through his connection with this paper. He died at Gisbprne, Poverty Bay, on the 10th inst., after a protracted illness. . A general meeting of the Manawatu Dra-matic-Club was held m the Public Hall, Palmerston, on Thursday. Several resolutions were carried affecting the rules of the Club and six new members elected. A meeting of the Manawatu County Council is called. for Tuesday the 21st ihst, the purpose of the meeting being the election of a Returning Officer. This is found necessary m consequence of the resignation of one of the Councillors. **
