We are pleased to learn that our remarks m reference to a main Jine of road from Waikanae to Palmerston. have produced some good effect, and that Foxton and Palmerston are likely to work harmoniously m endeavouring to obtain this desideratum. All that our Foxton friends stipulate for is a branch line from the main through line ; such branch to commence at a point gome eight miles from Foxton. There is no question that such a line of road as : the one proposed, "witL a branch from Horowhenua to Foxton,, would prove of immense benefit to the v^hole district, as it would open up a splendid lot of country ; the interests of both towns, Foxton and. Palmerston,' would be alike served by its construction ; and we believe that the Governmentwillact wisely m having it laid off without delay.
