It is not known whether the American Consul has been authorised by his Government. ', Edward Plumly, a settler, at Otahuhu, ,was thrown from- his cart on Saturday night. He sustained concussion of the r spine, and died this morning.' i Two collisions occurred m the harbor. The ferry steamer Devenport, ran into "the brigantine Flirt on Saturday night, carrying away the martingale. TheFlirt's jibboom swept, the .steamer's deck knocking down the funnel and doing other damage. The barque Victoria m coming m from Newcastle ran into the schooner' Christina, at anchor under the North Head, at 5 o'clock on Sunday, morning. The .schooner is much injured.
