TO THE EDITOR.
V IATOK, hence ! and mend your goose's pen ! I f vagrants prate, be silent honest men A nd hear the promised next : — Perchance he'll seek, T hrough that myterious bag, and find — not Greek, O r else save Murray's English : then we'll see R ight plain enough, the hag's more learned than he. D reary and long the measure of his strain ; E re half perused sleep lulls the weary brain. P rose writ m watery periods droops the lid, A nd prying vagrants come m dreams unbid ; R ags, bags, and dusty boots m ci'owds appear, Thin sickly jokes befoul the atmosphere.
