TAURANGA.
Monday. Sergeant Mathies, of the Armed Constabulary force, shot himself through the head with a revolver at 10 o'clock this morning. He was heavily m debt to the storekeepers m town, and had received two or three summonses. It is also supposed he is wrong m his Government accounts. He was m charge of the Government stores, and leaves a wife and family.
