IN VERCARGILL.

: ; -- March 22. The inquiry re the cause of the death of Thomas Casserley, which commenced yesterday, was resumed at 10 o'clock today, and concluded this afternoon. The jury returned a unanimous verdict, as follows :— "That deceased met his death through wilful violence, and that the evidence implicates John Monaghan as the cause of such violence." A rider was also added,:— r " That the jury desire to express strong disapprobation of the behavior of Silk and his wife in hastily removing evidences which: might have materially assisted the inquiry, thereby tending to defeat the ends of justice."
