RIVERTON.
Monday. The captain of H.M.S. Sapphire has
telegraphed to Dr. Monckton, stating that his vessel did not visit Carnley Harbor, but before leaving Auckland Islands he heard that the Awarua was lying there. Tuesday. Douglas, a prospector for an Invercargill company, at the Longwood ranges, after twelve months' work, struck a payable reef near G eorge Creek, and has proceeded to Invercargill today with the object of floating a company there, and bringing machinery to the ground.
