FOXTON HARBOR BOARD.
The first meeting of the Foxton Harbor Board under the order of His Excellency the Governor was held at the office of the Foxton Local Board on Friday last at two o'clock p.m. MEMBEBS PBESENT. Captain Robinson, Messrs J. U. Cook, E. S. Thynne, J. W. Liddle, A. J. Whyte, and A. Gray. Mr Liddle was called to the chair pro tern. A letter was then read authorising the calling of the meeting. BESOLUTIONS. Proposed by Mr Gray, and seconded by Mr Cook, That Captain Robinson be the chairman, Captain Robinson declined. Proposed by Mr Liddle, and seconded by Mr Thynne, That Mr Gray be the chairman. Carried. • Proposed by Mr Thynne,and seconded by Captain Robinson, That the chairman be requested to write and ask the Manager of the Railway for a copy of the returns received from the wharf for the last twelve months, showing the items of expenditure m full. Proposed by Mr Thynne, and seconded by Mr Whyte, That the .chairman be requested to write to Mr Seed, the
Commissioner of Customs, and obtain from him tKe boundaries of the Harbor Board, showing particularly the boundary between the' railway and wharf ; also, asking if the Board were compelled to take over the pilot service if they waived thejr claim to the pilot fees. Proposed by Mr Thynne, and seconded by Mr Whyte, That no meeting be called without at least three days' written notice being sent to each member, and signed by the chairman. Proposed by MrLiddle, and seconded by Mr Thynne, That the meeting be adjourned until the 23rd of March, at two o'clock p.m., and be held m the premises of Mr Gray.
