LYTTELTON.

January 6. The ship Cardigan Castle, from London, 95 days out, arrived this morning, and is quarantined.- Thirteen deaths occurred during the passage, one being a suicide. There were eight case of enteric fever and two of diphtheria, and there are now two bad cases on board, one of enteric fever, the other of tonsiHtis.. All communication with the ship has been rigidly suppressed, so that fuller information is unobtainable at present. The case of suicide reported from the Cardigan Castle appears to have been that of a single man named Cornelius Horigan, a native of Cork, aged 30, who was missed from the ship, and is supposed to have fallen overboard.
