LONGBURN.
(From Our Own Corresirondent.) LONGBURN, Sept. 30. Mr G. Syverr-ron, of the staff of the Kairanga Dairy Company, was met recently by his fellow members of the staff prior to entering camp at New Plymouth. Mr Brown, on behalf of those present, asked Mr. SyveWJn to accept a fountain pen and pencil, and wished him every success in the future.
At the patriotic dance held in Mr J. C'allesen’s granary on Wednesday evening the music was supplied by a professional orchestra. Mrs' W. Fell sang a bracket of numbers which were much appreciated; Miss P. Voss was the accompanist. An extra was played by Mr I. Fraser and Mr S. Rowlands, anil a novelty dance was Avon by Mrs Wilson and Mr B. Rowlands. The supper was served by the ladies of the committee. The friends of Mr C. E. Bee will regret to learn of the death of his mother, in .Tiniaru.
