Passengers by the Wellington-bound express on Saturday were Messrs T. S. Bolton and S. Ormo, who have been accepted in the R.N.Z.A.F. and have entered the Weraroa training school. Prior to boarding the train they were met by representatives of the townspeople. Patriotic _ Society and R.S.A. and relatives and friends The Mayor (Mr R. R. Johnston) wished the young men success and good luck in their training, and Mr J. Charles, for the R.S.A., invited them to apply to that organisation for any assistance they might need. The Woodvillo hockey players capped the season’s activities on Saturday when they were successful in a Rugby football match with the Woodville Rugby Club thirds, the -score being 11 points to 6. For the Hockey Club P. Burlacc and J Beal each scored tries; the latter also converted one try and scored a penally goal. For the Thirds V. Walker scored a try and Squires a penalty goal. Mr A. Burlace refereed. An accident occurred at the woodville sub-station of the Dannevirko Power Board on Saturday afternoon, the victim being Mr T. Court, a member of the staff. He was injured on the back, close to the spine, by a chisel which fell Pom the top of a’pole, causing a deep gash lie was taken to hospital, his condition being stated to be fairly • serious.
