BIG DEFENCE VOTE.
AMERICAN AUTHORISATION
WASHINGTON, Sept. 26. The House of Representatives has unanimously approved and sent to the Senate a Bill for a . supplementary Army and Navy appropriation of 1470 million dollars. This makes the last of the 13,000 million dollars of defence expenditures voted this session. The Secretary of War ‘ (Mr 11. L. Stimson) announces that the Army has awarded contracts totalling 2930 million dollars since July 1.
