SAVAGE CLUB
LADIES’ NIGHT. Tho Feilding Savage Club brought its 1940 season to ia close when members entertained their wives and friends at a social evening following tho final korero, at which Mr A. Hendry presided. A feature was tho delightful music supplied by tho club’s orchestra, which was assisted by a professional band for the dance numbers. Savage H. Brown was M.C. The programme opened with an orchestral number under the baton of Mr J. L. Fleetwood, and other items which delighted the audience were vocal solos bv Messrs S. Johnston, and L. Looker; sketching by R. Cleland and A. Pownall and company; harmonica band (Savage Sundborn); instrumental solo, Mr E. Fleetwood ; guitar duet, Messrs IV. Ingram and R. Wood; xylophone solo, Mr C. Bell; orchestral selection. A vote of appreciation was accorded the ladies’ committee, Mesdames H. Brown, R. 'Wilton. L. W. Penhey, J. Symonds, W. S. Niccols and Gedden, for arrangements in connection with the supper.
